DEVELOPMENT INCENTIVES
LAND AT ATTRACTIVE DISCOUNTS
Land is available on purchase or on long term lease with an option to purchase when the developer is ready. The duration of the lease is negotiated individually, based on projected cash flows. Discounted prices on land are based on the employment potential in the medium and long term. Council currently offers discounts of up to 10% on cash purchases of land.
Industrial land is presently being offered at prices as low as Z$30 m2 to Z$175 m2.
Commercial land is being offered at prices ranging between only Z$200 and Z$500 per m2.
Prices are subject to periodic review in line with movements in other economic variables.
RATE REBATES
A range of attractive Rate Rebates - based on the value of the capital invested in a project - are available to all investors:
From- 10% for 3 years for a capital investment of up to Z$5 million to - 20% for 5 years for a capital investment of over Z$20 million on Land and Buildings
Special considerations apply for Small to Medium Enterprise developers.
WATER REBATES
Concessionary water tariffs for developers building their own premises are offered during the construction period,

EXPORT PROCESSING ZONE DEVELOPMENT
The City of Bulawayo has recently established an Export Processing Zone (EPZ) Industrial Park situated a mere 5 Kilometres from the City Centre. The park is ideally situated in close proximity to the airport, trunk roads and railway line to the north and south for easier and speedier movement of goods in and out of the city. EPZ’s specifically cater for developers and companies wishing to carry on special high value-added export oriented activities which will earn them and the country much needed foreign currency for further development and growth. With Government support, companies operating in the EPZ park will enjoy special incentives status.
